Yesterday, i saw my Atyopsis gabonensis (aka vampire/cameroon shrimp) molt. I've had it for almost a year and it has only molted two or three times! but anywayz, my normally calm Atyopsis moluccensis (aka bamboo shrimp) started going berserk around the tank. i thought hmmmm thats strange, its just walking all around in a frantic mode... then the bamboo shrimp found the vampire shrimp and started clawing at it with it's walking legs! i was shocked. i know the bamboo cant do any real damage to the vampire, but seeing how the vampire recently molted, i didnt wanna risk stressing him out too much. so i isolated the bamboo for a day to let the vampire harden itself and such. today both the shrimps are hiding and seem to be back to their normal calm self. i've had the bamboo for over a year and this has never happened before. has anyone experienced their bamboo shrimp going out of control? or does anyone know why it happened? dont get me wrong, this is the first time it has happened. other than that, the most aggressive interaction between the two (which wasnt aggressive at all) was to push each other out for a spot under the filter's current.

I am not sure what caused the bamboo to claw at the vampire, but I do have about 12 bamboos and 3 vampires together, and the vampires simply shove the bamboos out of their way on a regular basis and the bamboos respectfully move out of the way.

I see no conspecific aggression...in fact, at any given time, 6-8 of the bamboos will congregate on an upturned clay flowerpot under the filter outflow to feed....the vampires seem to prefer the chunk of wood behind the pot, and the crypt 'forest' surrounding it.
