Forgive me for my ignorance, but why the divider? Just curious.~Matthew

Flowerhorns have some nasty bloodlines...and by the looks of most of them, a heavy dos of Trimac. I would imagine even breeding pairs may need to have a divider to keep fish from killig each other in some cases.

That makes sense, DarthV...Gordeez, are there other fish in the tank, then? I guess that's what I was asking or if you found it necessary to keep the FHs away from electrical equipment...

I know he has had it in with another flowerhorn, and at times a midas, check his website its got some nice shots on it.

THat picture looks like a pure bredd Trimac to me.

I know what Flowerhorns look like and this is not a Flowerhorn.

Actually, he has it with a pure Trimac. The FH and Trimac found last time. I do believe there were some photos posted here...showing both fishes were pretty scared up.

:D There was the same discussion in MoJo's Forum. Everyone said it is a Trimac.

No doubt,

I blame the fish stores who sale Trimacs as Flowerhorns!! THey are misleading some fish hobbyists and over charging I would assume!!

It isn't only that. There are a lot of FH that looks like Trimac. Sometimes it is so confusing. If not for the color, body shape, and snout...you wouldn't be able to tell. Heck! I didn't know the differences until I learned all those at MoJo's Forum. This is just so sad. *sigh*

I think thats part of the reason why alot of hobbyists hate hybrids. It confuses alot of people and it takes away from the original breeds of fish.

I personally am one of the rare hobbyists who likes Flowerhorns, but I dont like it how some of these fish store workers are confusing some hobbyists, its sickening.

I actually brought a Sysnpillum out of a tank that clearly had Blackbelt written on the tank. The fish store owner told me it was a Black Belt, I said its a Sysnspillum and I told him there is a distinct difference between a Synspillum and Black Belt. But Im realyzing that some of these fish store owners are just ignorant as some beginner hobbyists.

I totally agreed with you, Mass. Sometimes I'm the one educating the fish store clerks...not the other way around...when it comes to cichlid. Now I just stop buying any cichlid from the store. I only get cichlids from Jeff now. Beside, there are no LFS here who have the cichlids that Jeff has.
