automated dimmers?

I was in a lighting shop in chinatown and found something very exciting to me.

twist in, spiral compact flourescent bulbs, in 5000k (and he said he had 6500k) that are dimmable.

I think they were 13 bucks.

I want to simulate sunrise and sunset. any ideas?

from what i know about automated lighting it would be expensive....ill keep looking though

Great idea mellow... I use a poor-man's version by having a staggered/on off on my tank lighting. One set goes on, then the other set kicks in 10 minutes later. Ditto on turn-off.
