Hello everyone,
I am a student at Devry University. My colleagues and I are building an automated aquarium for our senior project. We propose to build a device that will monitor certain variables in an aquarium such as PH balance, temperature, O2, etc. Our device will perform proper adjustments to keep the aquarium in a stable environment according to the user’s settings. I need your help. I need to know what you would like to see in a this product. I have created a survey that will take only a minute to complete. The link to the survey is as follows:

I would appreciate your help and advice. Thanks!

The only thing that would be hard for 1 device to automate is Nitrate, since VERY few things can remove it from the water other then plant life and water changes, skimming doesnt remove Nitrate for example, only proteins before it enters the nitrogen cycle.

it could always just perform a 10-15 percent water change every week. you just fill the barrel with ro water(which it also uses to top up the tank), it mixes up a perfect solution using conductivity testing into anothe barrel, switches on a heater and a small pump to prime the water, then drains some out, and adds some in. Cant see why this is not possible :)
