Hi Everyone;

I have a 15 Gal. tank with 3 peppered corys, 3 serpae tetras and a betta. I will be out of town for a week during christmas. Does anyone have a recommendation about automatic feeders?

I have noticed some feeders with one large container for food and then it dispenses food one or twice a day. But I want to make sure some sinking pellets for the cory cats are being dispensed and some proper betta food as well as flake. Maybe even a treat during the week like bloodworms. I would actually prefer something with individual daily containers so I could measure out the quantity and variety of food for each day.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

If you are only gone for a week then I wouldn't worry too much about sinking tablets.

I bought the hagen auto feeder that feeds twice a day and when I go away for around a week and can't get someone to come in then I use it on the second lowest setting so only a tiny amount of food comes out twice a day. Some flakes make it to the bottom and my cories seem to do fine.

Adult fish can survive a week without feeding no problem. I use the feeder for piece of mind. But I am also aware that feeding without control can lead to a waste filled tank of dead fish.

And don't bother with those feeder blocks. They will just pollute your water and half the time don't even dissolve properly.

Yep.

I use the same auto feeder, and have it drop less than a 1/4 of what the fish would normally receive (just incase it malfunctions and starts feeding 4 times day).

Sinking shell dissolvers suck.
