Automatic fish feeder

if you're just using it while on vaca i'd pick one up that has individual reservoirs for each feeding. that way you can regulate what you're feeding.

i've got:

this one; http://www.google.com/products/cata...og_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CCkQ8wIwAQ#

and this one; http://www.google.com/products/cata...OTIKLgwwW7ptW9CA&sa=title&ved=0CAcQ8wIwADgA#p

i use them 24/7 and supplement on the side. this allows me to be lazy and to know what's going in my tank during vaca.

the eheim is definitely a better product. pricing is accordingly when comparing the 2, imo. you get what you pay for, basically. neither would be perfect without a bit of time to get to know them pretty good before you leave. neither is capable of feeding a perfect measure. they just dump whatever falls in the hole you leave for them as the tumbler spins.

this might be a better idea if it's just for a vaca... http://www.aquadirect.com/store/product.php?productid=17693&cat=0&page=118

depending on the length of your vaca and species in your tank you might not need one too.

how long is the vacation? your fish can go a week to 10 days without food just feed good before you leave and they will be fine.

Vacations of 3 weeks or less - don't bother with feeding. Longer than 2 weeks you might consider having someone in to do a PWC and check on the feeder. Personally I don't use them nor do I have anyone feed my fish.

sold, just feel bad not feeding them!
lol
I like the choices presented!
Thanks

seriously not feed your fish for weeks on end?
Like no food at all!?
Yeah, most fish don't need to be fed that often, although it is not a good idea to let them go too long without food if you have very young fish, imo. Some fish can go well over a month without food, for example, silver aros are able to go at least 6 weeks without food.

...wow
so me worrying about being home by 5 to keep their daily feeding regular is ..well
Guess it makes me a noob lol
