Anyone have any suggestions from personal experience or anything on a good automatic fish feeder? Do’s and don’ts? Right now I am using an Eheim Feed-Air, for a 10-day trip, but I just wanted to know about others because my LFS only carries two types.:grinyes:

plus, my dad doesn't want anyone to come into the house to feed the fish. :(

I wouldnt waste the money or the possible pain they could give you if something goes wrong when you are gone. Though some people have good results with them so someone could point you in the right direction.

Your fish should be fine without food for that long imo. Or place the correct amounts of food in labeled plastic baggies for someone to feed, someone you can trust.

I am leaving on a 10 day trip later this week and I am doing that.

I have the Eheim single feed-air on my cichlid tank & I love it. It keeps me from getting a bath when my fish eat. It comes on exactly like its programmed & has never failed to work. It was a little tricky setting up the food slot but now it's fine. My fish get so excited when they hear it rotating & gather at top of tank.

FWIW, make sure you use fresh batteries & run for at least a week to get any kinks out of it.
