Almond, not sure if you're still checking this post, but what type of pump are you running for your JBJ ATO? I'm about to buy one for my set up and I'm unsure of what pump to pair it with.

IMO its going to depend on what you plan on using your ATO for.. If purely just to add water into the tank then you should be able to get away with something as simple is a maxijet with the same style of tubing that is used on a python clamped to the output nozzel. If you plan on using for dosing as well your probably going to want to use something that isn't going to add the water as fast to your system so the changes aren't that drastic.

I bought this for mine since I plan on adding buffering agents to the water.

Mine is a DIY ATO (bought the float switch though), and I use a MJ1200.

I don't even hear it at all. Very quiet. In fact with my system the only think I hear are the ballasts in my hamilton tech double reefsun mh lights. And that is just a slight hum. The rest is "quiet".. Which is nice.
