Ok,
there are really a couple issues here.

First, I was wondering how long your c02 canisters generally last. I'm currently having issues with my regulator, I believe, but I'd like to guage what I'm after.
I have a 5lb canister for a 40g heavily planted tank. This canister lasted about twenty or so days.

Second issue: JBJ or Milwaukee? I'm having issues with my JBJ and was thinking about returning it for a Milwaukee. Any yay or naysayers on either?

I have been using the (Azoo) regulator, solenoid, and needle valve (Dr's F&S) for about two years now without any problem.

I am using the micro bubble, misting method.

I burn about 10# every 10 to 12 weeks.

soul manure--how are you? Always odd who you run into when wanderings. We are in a survival mode at that other place as the site upgrades servers and changes hosting facilities. Went to a temp arangement on the board at the sister site.

I would think you should get several months out of it.

I like the Azoo as well. But, as you know, i have been low tech about plants. Started to change that this time last year, That broken foot precluded me paying much attention to the tank so I ripped the CO2 and lights off. Got back to it 8 weeks ago. So, i may not be the best guy to listen to about poducts.

Does the CO2 feed into a reactor (or cannister filter)? Are you seeing bubbles of CO2 in the tank?

The JBJ has a solenoid, so it turns off at night. It also has a bubble counter, and I have it going to a diffuser with a second bubble counter, both appearing to be in sync, when I'm around to double check it, that is.

So I get a certain rate at the regulator's bubble counter, and then the same one, more or less, inside the tank.

This would seem to indicate that things are alright at the regulator's end. But I'm wondering if the issue is before the c02 hits the needs valve. On the other hand, the needle valve on the JBJ's I've had seems to be erratic--the bubbles are not always coming at a steady clip, and I'm always having to tweak it. I wonder if it just goes berzerk sometimes when I'm not there, spilling out loads of c02?

I second the leak. Soap water all the connections, guages and lines for see if bubbles occur. You should at least get 3 months on a 5lb, they way you run it.

Milwaukee is good, I have two. I would go with the Azoo, since I hear better things about it recently and also one less connection (bubble counter) for a leak to happen.
