in america for premies we use what is called an adjusted age it works by subtracting the amount you were early from your actual age ...its kinda weird then as the children grow they start spliting the differance in half by the time they are thre they dont adjust except for micro preemies which then carries until age five which by then they presume should be fully caught up .....my son is actually going to be two on the 12th of july but when you adjust his age ...he was 4 months early his actual time of turning two would be his due date of nov 6 ...so in july we would adjust him by half and he would then be considered ten months old on his second birth day ,,,lol its alot to figure out and keep track of lol

That makes no sense. Why wouldn't he just be considered 24 months - 4 months old = 20 months old? Besides, adjusted age is just for tracking development. Since North Americans don't count gestation as part of a person's age, we start counting from the day we are born, regardless of how early or late. If not, then since my last child was born 10 days after my "due date," maybe I should consider her to be three ten days before her birthday.

BTW, I'm 37. I got compliments on my new hair cut yesterday. One person said I looked 10 years younger, another said 20. What I want to know is, does that mean I know look 17, or that I used to look like I was 57? I don't think I like either of those options! LOL!
