Awkward

As some of u know i have been having some troubles with my convicts, well that is all settled know because i move the Alpha con to my 55 where he has surprisingly been living very very peacefully with the other fish so far.

Now for the awkward part, i thought that all the cons i had were males, but now the most aggresive one that was moved to my 55 looks like may be a female, it's belly is starting to turn red???

I guess we will find out soon what my ratio is.

Yea which is weird because everyone was saying it sounded like i had all males due to the aggression and the fact that i could see no red, but now that they are seperated and less stressed there color is coming back

Yea and that defianlty goes against what some have told me but i guess in there cases they prolly didn't have to so it's no fault of theres just different circumstances in my case i guess

it's all about how you as a fishkeeper "understands" the behavior, and thus trying to explain it to us, in your own words. inexperienced "cichlid keepers" tend to not exactly understand what is going on, and thus finding it hard to explain to us. it is pretty hard for a new cichlid keeper to understand "cichlid behaviors".

how do you tell the females apart from the males

from what i understand the females will have red coloration to their bellies, and also are smaller when full grown
