Well, I think things are under control (relatively) for now...
I was watching me fishies and especially the new betta. He got added roughly a week after the initial stocking, and he was in a crappy lil bowl at the LFS (gorgeous coloured fish btw
) Anyway, I was checking to see how his fins were doing since they're kinda shredded looking. Well, salt-like little grains on his fins and body. DOH! I've been reading these forums long enough to know what Ich should look like. So, water change, heat increase, and salt. I lifted off the hood, and in the corner, a dead tetra
****. Scoop him out, confirmed that he was dead, and he was. Not sure how long he was floating there, I try to do a head count everyday, so hopefully not too long. Anyway, that was all the more reason to do a water change.
Anyway, to make a long story a wee bit shorter... I wasn't sure how much salt to add, since all I've got is gourmet rock salt that goes in my salt grinder. So I added roughly 2 tbsp into a 25g. I don't think I have any questions, just had to vent a little.
Thanks
