I dont know how long it takes a molly to have fry after its born(gold dust mollies) but how long will it take for them to have babies of there own? My two gold dust mollies had 16 babies in the beginning of june and last night my largest one was very fat around her belly and this morning its not as big. im just wondering if she could of had babies already. i cant see any fry but im still looking.

I swear mollies and guppies are both near on born pregnant, they are nothing more than live food imo, cant stand the bloody things, they are the Tropical aquarium version of rabbits.

Yup. that's the advantage of live birth, after all. your babies are born larger, older, and able to mature quicker than if they came from eggs. essentially they go through the whole egg stage of development in mom's belly.

couldn't give you an exactly figure for how long until maturity. i haven't kept any in sexed pairs, myself, for the above reasons.

Well my guppy had a batch of babies before June and some are pregnant but none have had babies. I have had mollies too and same thing. That is too young. Either she absorbed her babies or ssometimes when you feed them their gavid spot and bellies get bigger. It is possible that the babies ate the new babies or the babies weren't developed enough and died and got aten. Or final option they are too small to see. They probably aren't worth finding. I hope I was helpful! :girl:
