My shell dwellers have successfully "porked"! I have some babies! I just want to make sure there is'nt anything special I need to do. I have 4 shell dwellers (non baby) 2 of which are a mated pair. Should I move the other 2 shell dwellers (they never go near the babies)? Should I move the mated pair? I have some baby food called "first bites" and am not sure how to feed them because when I put it in it takes forever to sink and I'm not sure if they are eating it. Tell me everything I need to do. I wanna be a good granndpa!!!

I would leave them be what size tank do you have also if the parents are beating the crap out of the others than i would move them also what type of shellies do you have..

Foods yeah i wouldn't feed them that stuff just when your feeding your parents flakes take a tiny bit and really crumble it between your fingers currently have 4 sets of shellies with new fry and i do not specific feed them and they seem fine to me..

Currently i have 2 different sets of Ornatipinnis defending fry, Multi's and Caudopunctatus as well and everyone has there own tank.. congrats and good luck..

First of all, thanks!

anyway, they are in a 10 gallon with plenty of shells.

they are Neolamprologus multifasciatus. They don't seem to be beating up the other to shellies too much. The food I have is already really really small (it cant relly be smashed any smaller)

Yisser Failte Cool deal.. Yeah one of the cool things about Multi's are that they are a colonial species and should co-exist with each other until you are cram packed with adults then a reduction would be in order.. as for food i would do a flake and just really crumble it in the tank pellets will be too difficult for the fry to eat..

Congrats!

I agree with pitt, no need to move any of them around until you see aggression or it seems a bit too crowded depending on the tank size. Most do not target feed the fry, they seem to do fine with whatever you are feeding the adults.

Expect more ;)
