Hi! My husband & I are novices when it comes to having a freshwater aquarium (almost 1 yr). I've read that Rubber Lip Plecos (RLPs) are difficult to breed, but that it will occur if conditions are right. We only have two RLPs, but after about 7 months, they decided to have little ones. Since we weren't trying to breed them, I think only 2-3 made it. We have a two level rock ledge decoration that is hollow on the inside, and since it wasn't quite level, they can squeeze themselves under it. Believe this is what they used for their spawning cave. Bottom of tank is filled with small rocks, not sand. I apologize for the poor photo quality, but I just started taking photos of the fish today. We had approximately 20+ peaceful freshwater fish in our 55 gallon tank. We also only had two Marigold Platties (aka Sunset Platties). We must be doing something right, because the platties have been quite prolific.
