Baby Tiger Oscar

The Oscar would eat the convicts when it matures and the O will eat any fry it can catch right now.
The convicts would very well in a dedicated 40gal breeding tank, but you will need a grow-out tank for the fry. Also, any fish in with the convicts should they breed will need a new home or they will be terrorized.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! A well planted tank....
That won't last long when your O matures, O's are notorious for tearing plants apart and re-arranging substrate, even moving rocks and driftwood.

You would be hard pressed to keep three (3) adult Balas in a 125gal tank, they grow to a average 12-14 inches and need alot of room to swim.
You might, might, be able to keep the Silvertips (I need to research'em).
The Rainbow is a nice snack for the O as you've already been told.

I doubt the Oscar would eat the convicts, slim possibility it could eat the female, but not the male. Just for reference to the tenasity of those little buggers, I had a male jaguar that wouldn't touch the things.

If you do a planted tank, use plastic plants, otherwise the oscar and convicts will be making some nice salad in there.

Good afternoon all!

After moving it, the baby Tiger Oscar began swimming with my Sharks, but it has not eating in two days. I tried Goldfish flake and Goldfish floating pellets, no good. So I want back to PetsMart and ask them for the type of food that they were being fed. It was Hikari cichlid staple (floating pellets), that still dose not work. Well that is why I’ am here. I need help, because I don’t want to lose him/her. This baby is driving me crazy.

Mine did the same thing when I first got him, then he got hungry and started eating, new fish will tend not to be too active or bother eating until they get settled into their new home. He later ate a Bala Shark, since they are like feeders, I would not recomend that mix.

Balas will be perfectly fine, a 12" oscar won't be able to eat a 14"+ bala shark, of course we must excuse bob as he doesn't know that any fish can reach these potential sizes because how how he stocks his tanks.

u can excpect to see fry in about 2 months maybe 1. and u wont have to worry about the convicts 1 has lilp locked with a pirahnas!

Thank you all for replying!
