Back2School

I never thought I would say this, but I wish I was starting school.... :thud: !!!! I had just started my masters program last semester and found out in April that I was pregnant, so my due date puts me at missing the last few weeks of class, so I'm not going this semester  !!

But, since I was registered for last semester I was able to buy season tickets for UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN FOOTBALL  !! My husband was soooo happy I was accepted, he had been on the waiting list for season tickets for over 5 years :)

For now I'm just taking a course called Applied Business Technology... because I have no idea what I want to do with my life :)

Are you going to BCIT? I found University/College to be a lot fun...maybe too much fun. :) Personally, I found I was a better student after taking a break from school, and being in the workforce for a while, rather than when I went directly into University from high school.

But you can go back to finish your masters program in a while. I know a number of women who finished their programs with young children at home. A couple of those women got their PhDs. :)

Not BCIT, its UCFV I'm going to.
I actually did take a break.
I graduated in 2004, worked, and now I quit and I am going back to school :)
I always told my parents I was taking a year off after highschool, they never thought I would go back, but I've proven them wrong ;)

Enjoy! I'm not familiar with that school...I take if "FV" stands for Fraser Valley? How are you feeling about going back to school?

The baby is due the first week of December, so I plan to take a class in January!! The program is geared toward adults, so most of the classes don't start until around 4 or 5 (so my husband will be home, I can abandon ship for a while ;) )

To add on to this thread, out of curiousity, how much has everyone spent on school supplies for their younger ones? I remember my mom used to be shocked by the "supply list" I would come home with in grade school....
I won't even ask about college, been there done that, bought enough $100 dollar books to know better

The elementary school has a program where you can buy your supplies directly from them. It's a fundraiser, so the costs are a bit higher than buying on my own, but all the supplies are paid for before summer starts. That way, I don't have to rush out right before school starts and fight crowds. :) So, I paid $30-40 Canadian, plus shoes and bags that we bought on our own. School fees this year will be $75 for two of my kids. $66 a month for my preschooler.
