Background effect?

So, i can easily say the colour will be black, Matt or gloss though, hmmm ill have to flip a coin, do any of you like sky blue colour?

i have not tried it on any of my tanks but i saw a picture of a tank that was painted a medium blue colour, it looked alright, but i think black looks the neatest.

ok, thanks everyone, EMS ;)

I use engine block paint, holds up to high heat and grease. Looks awsome, no bubbling, spots, etc...

Have used Chrysler Blue and Chevy blue, the tank in my link below is chevy blue on a 55g fw. It has been on for about ayear and still looks great.

Recently put it on my sw tank and figured it should hold up any salt spray on the back with a little routine cleaning. I have searched all around for tank backing and this looks the best IMHO.

I use black vinyl with an adhesive backing. It's a rich glossy black right up against the glass that really gives the tank more depth.

I used to use paint, and I have used cardboard, posterboard and most cheesy looking backgrounds. Oceanvisions makes an adhesive background that comes in multiple colors, and is 100 times easier than paint to apply. it stick well looks as good as paint, and doesn't cost all that much. It's really awesome stuff and Since I started using it, I will never have to/ want to paint a tank again.

I took the advice of some of you guys and dropped a whopping $1.48 on a big piece of matte black poster board yesterday. Cut it to size and it looks terrific. Thanks for the tip!
