I was thinking of making a texured background for my malawi tank but do not want to spend alot of time on the foam projects I have seen before. I was thinking of getting a piece of plexiglass or lexan cut to fit the same size as the back of the tank and possibly using some sort of non-toxic epoxy to adhere sand to give a textured look. I was thinking the black sand Ive seen in the pet stores would look cool and if Im real sloppy with the epoxy it will gaive a real natural look , also probably drill a few holes in the plexi to attach some plants or vines. THOUGHTS????? yes this will go insisde the tank.
I have had my tank setup for about 4 months and do not want to screw anything up, so far all has been perfect with water and fish.
