Backgrounds and how to see them.

My tank has the background painted black and I used acrylic paint and dried with a hairdryer in between coats

I think acrylic paint is a better medium than enamel since: a) easier clean-up/lack of toxic fumes; b) dries more quickly; and c) easier to remove if you want to change colors. (As an artist, I stay pretty up on basics of paint.)

Ok thefirethief, I've finally set-up my custom page (link below) with tank pics and specs. Still need to add a few shots of my spotted leaf fish tank, but it's going to change in the next month or so to planted as well, so I figured I'd just wait till then. Enjoy!

Hey rowanangel. Your tanks are absolutely beautiful. You obviously know what you are doing. Youve motivated me into setting up my puffer tank, think I'll start planning that today. I'll keep checking for your new pics!

Thanks guys. One of the best parts about having real plants in your tank is that the tank is always in a state of change. I read about people becoming disinterested in this hobby after the initial excitement of setting up a tank and choosing fish is over, but with real plants it’s never really over. I like that! Hope to see pics of your puffer tank once it’s up.
