Ghost Knife, just a side question since I don't want to overtake this thread. I was curious if you had an E-mail address where I could ask you some questions concerning Ghot Knife fish since I'm actually doing my first freshwater setup.
I have one of those, too. I caught it at the beach and placed it in my tank. Yeah, I introduced a wild specimen to my tank -- a lot of people would want to hang me for that.
Most s.w. fish come from the wild now not putting it in hospital for 6 weeks that 's a different story . Hard to say about the crab, what does it eat a lot of Mithrax crabs are great algae eaters others are great anything they can get in their mouth eaters. I'd just keep an eye on it ,"not in your main if you have inverts!" Most hitchhikers are 100% harmless by the way.
hth and keep us posted.
Yep, the gorilla crabs can be real beasts . There are also some smooth red crabs that like a lot like an emerald well there seems to be more than one species one acts more or less like an emerald and one acts like a great big old beasty. I've never been able to tell em apart though unless I see them in action.
It doesnt seem to be doing any damage. but today i found a white crab holding a zoa in one of its claws. i dont know if it was eating it, or pretending to be a boxing crab lol
that's right mysis up to and including redlegged hermits if they don't have enough shells. Hermits will go from snail to snail pull them out of the shell and try it on for size. Nope, this one doesn't fit oh no whinging on to the next.
