Bala freaking out

New home for Bala with Oscar?

Thanks for all of the advice. I have a friend with a large tank that only has one Oscar in it. Do you think they would get along? She's willing to take him. Sorry if that's a lame question - my knowledge is limited to community fish.

How big a tank?

It's a 55 gal. I know that's not too much bigger than mine, but it's a solution until I can find someone in my fish club who can take him.

if it's a full grown oscar, then the 55 gallon is already to small not to mention it will probably rip the 4.5" bala shark a new tail if doesnt kill it outright.

Width is the most important thing in a bala tank. If you are going for a tank, pick something that's as long as you can.

ive got to agree. 55 is way to small for an oscar, much less an oscar AND a bala.
oascars need at least a 75, as a bare minimum, with nothing else, not to mention agression issues with the bala
