bala shark tank size

Your 60 should be fine, get them small and raise them up. They are def an awesome fish to watch

Bala sharks are a schooling species so you should have about 6. However, a school of them will outgrow a 60 gallon tank.

I don't think a 60 is big enough. They can be really skittish, especially if not kept in a group. They are social fish and need to be in groups to feel comfortable. They need more open swimming space than a 60 can provide IMO.

They get even bigger and need brackish water as they get older.

If you want a shark like fish then why not get a red tail/rainbow/ albino rainbow shark? They can live in a 60 gallon for life, look nice and have a lot of attitude.

if you follow blue2fyre's advice, make sure you only get one (especially red-tails, they're the most aggressive). Only keep multiples in larger tanks with a bunch of hiding spots (I used to have 3 redtails in my 120 gal)
