i have a 3' heavly planted, fully matured tank which has been running for several years. stocked with:
5 x black neons
5 x red eyed tetra
6 x cardinal neon
6 x sunset platies
3 x zebra danios,
2 x plecs
1 x rainbow shark.

i used to have in four pakistanni loaches as well, along with an extra black neon and red eyed tet, but lost these to an unknown desiease quite a while ago. my question is could i add 3 bala sharks to this set up? if room is a problem, my lfs has been taking platies from me for ages so i could take the six back. any views, bala shark with a rainbow shark? ur call

3' is too small for a fish that will grow to a foot long.

I say no.

A 3' tank is too small for a full grown Bala. I guess it would depend on how long you wanted to keep those Balas. Once they got to a certain length you'd have to transfer them out of your tank and purhaps trade them to your lfs...as you have been w/ your platies?

the ones i have seen are about 1.5-2.5" long at the min, i would only keep them until they got to about 4-5 probably then trade them in again
