Interstingly enough I was doing some reading last night and ran across a discussion on this algae. Mexican turbo snails seems to be effective. However this is entirely anecdotal and i have no personal experience.

Bf hates turbos because of how much they knock things over... he wants to try a tuxedo urchin (which I think will do the same thing, but there's no changing his mind) and some emerald crabs. I think that it will eventually come down to the turbos...just have to wait and see lol
Cool corals!

Thanks!!

The Tuxedo wont do the same as the Turbo. A Turbo knocks things over by accident as it eats. The Tuxedo will actively search out your frags and turn them into fashion accessories... :D

How much do you usually spend on your corals?

The 3 montiporas, the acans, and one of the riccordia. The rest were free frags from the local club.

I feel your pain Bally. I have almost the same issue going. Just about 4 years with no significant issues and then I get got hit with turf and bubble algae. The good news is that my corals have never looked better :)! The tux urchin is really your best bet and as long as your frags are glued down, the tux won;t be able to try them on. I also have 2 large turbos in my tank and they have never knocked anything down (agin, the frags have to be glued).

The only other think I can suggest is peroxide. Either a whole tank treatment, targeted rock dipping (not corals) or draining the water level down and applying the peroxide to affected areas before refilling. There are a couple of really good threads out there on this and I highly recommend that you read them thoroughly if you decide to go this route. Lots of people have had excellent success with peroxide.

FWIW, your corals look great!
