Bally's 40B

Thanks FishGuy :)
I'm going to be dosing bacteria from a bioKit or two that I have laying around. Maybe it will do something maybe not. We'll see I suppose.

What stuff are you going to try? I had a bottle of biospira laying around when I started my last tank, added no ammonia source the next day had ammonia over 4 and off the scale trites and trates. I guess the stuff may of shaved a few days off the cycling but it certainly doesn't make it safe to immediately add fish like the container says. The cycle finished up after about 2 weeks.

Its called BioKit nano reef. Its these little glass vials you add. Honestly thats all I really know about it lol.

Salinity was 1.022 this morning, tested via a refractometer. Added some more salt and will check again in a few hours. My LR, rubble, and "muck" was ordered today along with some snails and 2 skunk claner shrimp and are set to arrive on Wednesday. My debate now is to try and pair up myh female clown now in the bucket or when the tank is ready. I'm 90% certain I'm going to get an ORA male clown. Then the nem after the pairing. She is currently hosting my fuzzy mushroom and my finger leather, so finding her another host nem will be easy. I can't remember the name off hand but I'm going to get their natural host.

This is our other tank :)

It's not letting me edit the last post but I wanted to add this.....

A whole lot easier than going and buying water at the LFS

Define "muck". Is this some sort of reef mud like GARF Grunge?

The natural hosts are magnifica (or ritteri) and gigantea. Both have less than desireable survival rates in the hobby. Might want to give the tank some time to mature before attempting on of these. Also, if you go with the carpet nem, be prepared to lose fish.

Looks good, hope everything settles in ok.

Yes, reef mud, from premium aquatics. I was looking at the ritteri specifically. Carpet nems, although beautiful aren't worth the loss of my fish.

Just wanted to say, I've been reading up on your previous thread and this one over the last few days. It has been VERY informative as I will be starting my first salt tank in the next 6 months or so. Good luck and thank you for all the good (and bad) you've been through and I have learned from. :D
