I went with my parents to visit the Baltimore Aquarium yesterday. It's really nice! I took a bunch of photos, and thought I would share some of my favorites.
Right as you come in, they have a huge waterfall with these fish swimming at the bottom. Very pretty.
Northern Death Adder, from Australia. They had a whole section set up as an Australia theme.
Frilled lizard, also in the AU exhibit.
Really big Australia manta.
Rainbowfish! Banded rainbowfish, to be precise. Anyone here have these? They are really pretty.
The big guy is a lungfish.
The manta/shark tank.
Feeding time.
They had a tank of lionfish, and info on how they are invading areas.
And you thought YOU had a fancy filtration system...
They have a new jellyfish exhibit. Some of the tanks were lit in a way my camera liked, and some were not. I love jellyfish, and they are easier to take pictures of than fish, who won't stop friggin moving, so lots of jelly shots.
The dolphin show. I have some real opposing feelings about these, but seeing as my parents really wanted to see it, I went.
More fishes! My camera battery began to die, so I didn't get as many shots as I wanted. I knew I should have bit the bullet and bought another battery, but they are a little pricey and I am a lot cheap.
New skull for my collection, once I figure out how to sneak it out...
More fish.
This guy was in a tank full of cichlids, so I'm guessing he is a big, ugly, grumpy version of a cichlid.
Also in cichlid tank, but small and cute.
This guy was in a tank with a bunch of beautiful Kribs. They were moving too fast for me to get a good shot (especially with the subdued lighting), but I got a shot of this guy.
Mudskipper!
Seahorse, of course.
Some kind of very cute SW fish.
Another SW fish.
Rockfish.
