Does anyone know about these little buggers? I saw some at petco and they were really neat. I have a Red claw crab. Will there be competition? And also do they eat plants? And will they go up your filter?

I have four of them! They don't eat algae, they filter the water with their fan-like feet.
They won't go up your filter and they like to hang out near the top of the aquarium on plants.
I got them cause they are so neat to watch!

If you want algae eaters, get the amano shrimp!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I am going to try to convince my dad to get some tomorrow. Will they eat plants? He is a bit anul about this. And will a red claw crab eat him?

A red claw crab will eat whatever it can catch, fish, flakes, shrimp. If they are too slow or get too close.

The bamboo shrimp is a filter feeder as was mentioned and won't eat plants.

mine likes the bottom. He either positions himself on driftwood towards the bottom underneath the filter outflow or rests in a smallish rock outcropping on the bottom, also in the flow of the filter. I figure he gets the food better in the current? He's very cute.

My crab and my shrimp met last night. The crab raised his pincher and backed off then the shrimp backed of and the crab went forward. Thankfully the shrimp wasnt killed. They should do fine for now. I will try to get some pictures soon.
