Bought 2 of them today and was wondering if anyone had any tips of taking care of these guys? :dive2:

I expect to get a pile of crap for saying this. But people on this forum to like to argue and disagree a lot.
(But it won't be as large as the piles of crap a bamboo shrimp leaves around the tank! They poop a lot!)
They don't require a lot of special care at all. They are filter feeders, so as long as there is a strong filter output somewhere for them to fan their little hands and gather organic matter from the water column, they will do fine. Sometimes they will go around and forage on the floor...some people have said this is a bad thing...but after a year of watching mine do that I can't assume that's true. He's perfectly healthy. I think they just like some variety. I also don't think they require a minimum tank size, as they generally like to stay in one place most of the time. Mine has been living in a five gallon tank and he's deeply colored and looks more than content.
One thing I will say is that perhaps if a tank is brand new and doesn't have much organic matter in the water, you might have to supplement with a liquid type food. (Maybe the sort meant for reef tanks if it can be determined safe.)

i love bamboo shrimp, they are pretty neat looking. i also agree that their care level is pretty minimal, though they are picky in water quality (like most shrimps are). i would definately wait until the tank is established, so theres a good growth of algae around. they go for microscopic algae spores and other floating things in the water. if possible, go out and purchase a powerhead, they will just hang around is all day.
