Sooooooooo, my boss has a bamboo plant in a small pot. It is getting too big for said pot and needs a new home. If I fastened it to the top of the tank(MY 10 gal office tank) somehow with only the roots in the water, how would this affect my fish? Is it safe? There is enough light for it to grow there, as the tank occupies what was once the bamboo's spot for 2 years, so that is not an issue. Iffins its OK to do, I should be able to figure out a way to attach it, but I am open to suguestions ;)

So-called lucky bamboo is not bamboo, but a Dracena, usually sanderiana. It does fine as an emerse bog plant, but I would not allow either the old pot or the old soil mix in any tank of mine(too much mineral buildup).

I was thinking of doing this as well. The nice thing about lucky bamboo is you can get it just growing in water (no soil). Is your bamboo just growing in a bowl of water with stones?

Yup, just a small bowl of stones. The pot and stones do have a large mineral buildup on them, but I'd be taking them out of the picture. If I try it I'll make sure to clean the plant itself real well. I'll also make sure to let yall know how it went:)
