oh, yes, thanks for reminding me of that. The carbon is definitely called for, in addition to a water change. But the carbon will help remove whatever chemicals are left over. Make sure it's brand new carbon, for maximum effectiveness.

Make sure to keep up with water changes during the salt treatment, too. Some people neglect that part because they don't want the hassle of re-mixing salt, but that in itself can also lead to fish deaths, especially if they're already weak. My suggestion is to mix water and salt in a bucket or empty (clean) garbage can for refilling the tank after water changes.
