bare bottom shrimp tank???

anyone ever done this?

1 will be easy to clean
2 still have a moss base maybe just a big rock to keep it down
3 easy to catch the shrimp

i think that would be fine. You could make moss walls if you wanted.

I don't see why it would be a problem if there was a sizable chunk of moss in there. It would make it a heck of a lot easier to catch the little buggers.

also thinking to paint the bottom black so they still pop out more.... maybe the bottom back and sides.

If you use a big rock to hold it down the moss under it would probably die. Like MsJinkz suggested, you could do a moss wall but put it on the bottom of the tank.

or even just on the sides for the moss walls, my shrimp spend alot of time on the moss walls i have on my tank sides. Its the only moss i have in the tank (cherry tank anyway). i like the painting the tank bottom black, or placing the tank on something black.

Mines not bare, just a thin layer of sand. but it's pretty much the same thing
