Beard Algae

It doesn't matter for me since my angels likes to eat them so I rarely see Bearded algae (stringy kind if that is what you're talking about) for that long w/o having angels eat them up.
It probably is a sore eye for most of people and shows that your tank is out of "balance"? Too much sunlight or food etc, etc. I don't know much about plants

:not the stringy green stuff but reddish or brown tufts that flow with the currant no longer than an inch .If you have enough it looks like fur .
