Bearded Dragon discoloration

Vet confirmed shed. (They have never been this big before on Lil.) Sent out BM for fecal test; we've been on wormer for month now. Expect it to come back negative. Upped antibiotics for mass at jaw line. Hopefully it will go away. Have follow-up appointment in 10 days.

Dr Vader and I bought a "home" tank for Lil over the weekend - 75G wide. We're working on that setup, which should be fun.

Thanks for everyone's support!

I'm glad to hear it was only a false alarm. It's great that you took it seriously and brought Lil' to a vet though.

Mr and Mrs Vader, my adult beardie also prefers live to veggies, you can tempt them with crickets into the salad, sometimes I put the leaves of escarole over the crickets so it moves, I'll take spaghetti squash and wiggle it from my fingers like worms.

^ is a good source of information on different foods.

Mine won't eat veggies at all until one day it stopped eating for about a month when it was about 18 months old. We were able to get it to eat green horned worms but he won't eat crickets, super worms or even a pinkie mouse. During this time we still offered food (meat every other day and veggies the days in between) Finally he started eating again and now he eats mainly veggies with a few crickets once maybe twice a week. We will eat the crickets and then he will go back over to his veggie dish and beg for his veggies. Boy I wish my kids would do that. He is picky. He likes the spring mix greens.

The shed did come off and in one big piece, which was cool. The fecal test came back negative. The invected bump on the jaw is still there, but doesn't seem to bother him. He's not interested in his veggies now, but he hasn't pooped in 2 weeks either. Hopefully I have a "present" tomorrow.

Dr Vader and I worked on the second "home" setup for Lil today. All went well until we started working on the lighting. It looks like we're back to a bunch of dome lights for all the day, night and UVB needs...

So I have one dragon with multiple tanks. Is that a syndrome?

What kind of bulbs are you using for the domes? If you're not using one already pick up a ceramic heat bulb. They use less electricity but produce more heat then a normal heat bulb and can last for years without replacing. Their downside is that they don't produce light (which is ok if you have a uvb tube light) and they're a little pricy.

My office tank (55gal): I use an night heat light (that I have on 24/7), day basking heat light (on a timer), and a UVB light (also on a timer).

My home tank (75gal): I already have a GLO T-5 for general light. But I'm going to get a night heat, day basking heat and UVB. I'll look for a ceremanic heat bulb since I will already have the UVB and GLO bulbs in place. Thank you!
