I was around here about 2 years ago, but due to life had to take my tank down and deal with life for a bit. I just recently set up my 20L gal tank again. I have a 55 gal I was going to set up but found out that the landlord will only allow a max of a 20gal tank. Oh well, time to find a house so I can set up the larger tank.
Currently I am doing a fishy cycle. I know, I know, some prefer a fishless cycle but I decided, well the kids decided for me, to do a fishy cycle. I have 2 mollies (about 3 weeks) and 2 gold danio's (about a week) at the moment. Waiting till the cycle finishes before I get more fish.
My 3 and 6 year olds fight over who gets to feed the fish each and every evening. They both love to sit with me and watch the fish, even the 6 month old will sit and watch the fish. I am slowly teaching the 6 year old how to take care of the fish so one day she can be in charge of a future quarantine tank.
The best thing I have done so far this time around is getting the kids involved. The second best was making a DIY 50' Python for about 30 bucks.
