No it was a dead ghost shrimp not a molting. We used a product called Cycle in the tank per the directions on the bottle. Since adding the fish we've done water checks every 12 hours (11a and 11p), we are trying to do this right and keep the fish happy/healthy.

The fish all look good again today.. but I'm still watching them for any signs of a probelm.

I hope you're still not using Cycle?

FWIW that stuff really does not work. Any useful bacteria in those bottles is most likely dead. The bottles need to be refridgerated to prevent the bacteria from going through their life cycle. If they go through their life cycle they will just die off. There's no food in there for them to continue to reproduce.

It's all marketing hype.

No we haven't used it since we put the fish in. Thanks for the heads up as we were planning to use it weekly following the directions. We have also used plant tabs and had planned to continue their use directions say ever 3-4 months.
