a single angel will be a perfect centerpiece fish for your tank. platies are pretty good tankmates for angels, and they come in pretty much every color. for the middle of the tank, there are plenty of species of tetras to choose from; stay away from neons, cardinals, and serpaes. neons and cardinals will be eaten by the angel, and serpaes will nip the fins. lemon and red eye tetras are a good idea, as are black skirt tetras. all three are pretty hardy. for the bottom of the tank, a group of peppered corydoras should look great.

You can see pics of different type tanks in the gallery you should check it out. I have artificial plants in my 36g. The type of fish depends on how you want to go. You have to check out compatibility first very very important. I went with the peaceful community fish in my 36g and I have a nice variety they all seem to get along well. I use an aquaclear 50 heater in my tank and I have a penguin 200 hob filter it seems to do the trick my water is crystal clear and fish are happy.
