So you can find out the details of the tank in my sig but I had three berried female shrimp.

Right now I can only spot one with the berries...at least one doesn't have them anymore and I think the other one is also berry-less.

Should I be expecting babies or did they just drop?

Are the eggs hanging somewhere or should there be little shrimpies running around?

Please help me :)

Matt

The newborn shrimps are very very tiny (1mm or so in size) and mostly clear so you may be missing them against those white rocks as they tend to hide--a survival mechanism I suppose. When the eggs are gone from a shrimp--they are gone--either hatched or eaten mostly.

I forgot to mention that the Betta will be loving your baby shrimps....he may have eaten them all as they actively hunt them out once they know that baby shrimps are in there.

BTW: Your tank is amazing looking!!

Ok...a I remembered I had some babies a long time ago and they were really tiny.

Also one of the female's eggs were greenish more than yellow. Does that mean they were ready or were they going bad?

And theres so many hiding spots and with the big gravel I'm not seeing too much lol

EDIT: I just spotted the other female and she still does have her eggs so only one dropped them

I am glad that your shrimp has not lost that berry! Some of the shrimps have green eggs and some are yellow and I've even had white ones. The coloration means nothing as to the health of the young--just color variations. I like the green ones the best :p:!

Usually if the female has a batch go bad--which doesn't happen all that often--she will remove or drop the eggs early on.

Oh ok. So think the other two will work out and possibly one already did?

They have been in here about a week so far

I am thinking that if you wait a couple of weeks you will have lots of shrimps! With all the hiding places that the baby shrimps have in that beautiful tank--some will make it and get to big for your fish to eat.

We can only hope :) but hopefully he won't get them all but at least he will keep them a bit under control lol.

Ahhh the circle of life in just 3.71 gallons

And thanks...I like my little tank

You'd be surprised how well they can hide. I accidentally added a few to my 75G goldfish tank while feeding them duckweed from the RCS tanks. I picked out the RCS first but obviously missed a few. I figured they were snacks.

So...eventually I rehomed the goldies...within a few days I had adult RCS and soon babies showing up. Probably over 100 in there now.

They hide well :)
