Berried RCS

It looks like 2 at least 2 of my red cherries are berried now, :clap:. Can anyone tell me about how long before the babies arrive and if I need to do anything to increase their survivability?

Not sure how long it takes for the eggs to hatch But good hiding places will help the babies survive.

Is there anything other than red cherries in the tank(such as fish)?

Nope, just the shrimp

Since it is just shrimp the babies have a higher chance of making it because there are no fish to eat them.

I hear a good plant to have with shrimp is java moss, shrimp love it! It also makes a good hiding place and provides food for the shrimp (the shrimp don't eat the plant they eat the stuff that grows on it or at least that is my understanding).

I agree. It usually takes about 60 days from the time you see the saddle to the time they hatch. From the time you see the eggs, it is usually about 30 days.

i have a few RCS and they seem to love the hornwort in my tank, i put a cluster of it in the front left corner of my tank and put a piece of driftwood infront of it to kinda hide it more and they spend most of their time crawling around in it, as well as the java moss thats on the piece of driftwood
