Been a member here for a while but never posted till now. I have a 90 gallon and 120 gallon in which I keep cichlids, tangs and malawis. My son has become infatuated with betta fish. I need some suggestions on a good tank about 5 gallons to keep 1 betta and maybe a couple of cory cats in. Acrylic would be preferred maybe with built in lighting and filtration. Any help you could provide me would be greatly appreicated! Feel free to suggest decor and anything else also! I know betta do not like a like a water flow in their tank so I guess I will have to take that into comsoderation.
Thanks
Greg

Really good tank

It's a little larger than 5 gallons, but Marineland sells a very nice acryllic tank under the Eclipse line. It's 6 gallons and has built in light and filtration system. I had one for my quarrantine tank until I got enough space to set up a 10 gallon tank. They look really nice when you maintain them properly too.

If you are only doing a 5 gallon tank for your betta (or the 6 gallon Eclipse) and you want cories, I would stick with the dwarf cory cats (c. habrosus, c. pygmaeus, c. hastatus) versus others like the pandas or anything larger, there won't be enough room for them to swim!!!!

Mariland hex 5 is a nice tank for a beta. It has built in light (compact frorecent) and a built in bio wheel filter (that just makes a small ripple on the surface and does not even move the plants). It also has an area in the back for air lines and I was able to drill the hole larger for a heater.

Decided to go with the Marinelamd Eclipse 6 got a good deal on one, thanks for all the suggestions guys they were very helpful!!

I have an All glass 5 gallon Acrylic bow fron that is awesome for keeping a betta. The bettas also eat off the bottom so I wont be putting in a cat fish of any kind.
