best canister filter rank top 3

let us know in 8 months, whether it has started leaking or is broken completely. ;)

My friend had a fluval 302 or something like that and it had been running for about a couple years. For some reason one evening it decided to just start leaking badly and it emptied 3/4 of her 75 gallon onto the apartment floor and down 4 floors. Not nice. The condo made her get rid of the tank.

I think she said some plastic clip cracked or failed and it leaked through there. Said the plastic is very brittle. She had discus and loved them. Poor girl :(

when i first got started, i had an eheim ecco. it was fabulous and if i had the cash, i would buy one again from eheim, classic or ecco. they are, at least in my mind, the best.

See the problem with this is there are people very loyal to there brand even if they aren't the best it's just like car guys who are loyol to one company even tho there are always better cars out there you would have to find someone with an un-biased opinion and get them to test all the brands to find out what was best

any comments on the magnums? Ive seen ok reviews on this

I wonder why it is that we like Eheim so much. I mean I love mine because I feel they are solidly built and mechanically simple so little to go wrong. I'm sure the other filters filter great but I think I like mine because I can see it running 20 years from now :)

I've been using a Fluval 204 and a Rena XP1 for a couple of years now with no issues, and have so far been more than satisfied. They are 1000% better than any HOB. However, I totally believe that they are second best to Eheim... but a good alternative for those such as myself who simply aren't on an Eheim budget. If I could, I would buy Eheim's Professionel series for all my tanks- hands down the best from what I've been told.
