best cichlid pellets....

I dont do african cichlids but there are flakes that have the little kenyi cichlids on the front of the can. Get that one. Id just go with some tropical flakes from walmart. Any food will work

hikari (in my opinion the best fish food company on the market, but i would like to try and am not putting down spectrum, just havent tried it yet, and when i have found it it is expensive) makes herbivorous pellet foods for african cichlids. a good LFS will either have it in or be able to get it in for you. Hikari's "Cichlid Excel" is the one im thinking of, and i think they have one other food that would be good for africans.

NLS Cichlid is the one that my african cichlids love, plus look at the ingredients the best ones dont have ground fish meal as the main (first) ingredient. Use some spirulina flakes for some variety as well. Agian look at the lable first ingredient should not be ground fish meal like Tetra's spirulina flakes. Aquatrol makes some good spirulina flakes. You can even try some seaweed squares with the veggi clip or tie it to a rock. Variety is good for the health of the fish.

whatever anyone decides/prefers is the BEST, variety is always good. the more high quality foods the better.

I have a can of the Omega One, and I do think it is excellent food. But it is sort of odd that their website makes a big deal out of telling us to check their ingredients but I can't find their ingredient lists for any of their products on their website

Try several varieties of the top brands of pellets and use the ones that your fish seem to like the most.
