Best Cories

Even though Corydoras and Brochis are different genera, I think they all fall pretty well under the term cory cat (along with Aspidoras and whatever genus they eventually decide C. barbatus belongs to). As far as favorite cories, I like C. melini, arcuatus, sodalis and schwartzi. There are many more I've seen in books that are gorgeous, but most of them seem to be either unavailable or stupid expensive.

My emerald green cory cats are my favorite.
Provide hiding places for them.
Mine all hide under a piece of driftwood when their resting.

The minis- hastatus and pygmaeus! and ? cochui ?

I always like elegans, and they're usually not pricey.

These are harder, but cool:

nattereri- the emerald cory. spectacular in the right conditions.

barbatus- the giant.

treitlii the long nose- good luck finding any!

For larger tanks, Dianema (flagtail and porthole cats) are great cory relatives, too. Then we get into the Hoplos and other cool armored cats.

The Aspidoras cats are also great. Small, stretched-out, fun.

I just got the false Julii and I guess I am partial to them! I would of loved to get pandas but they were more expensive.

When I upgrade ... I will get more!

Thank-you guys so much for your input!!!

I looked at the pictures at planet catfish and I definitely have Bronze Cories.

The Cory Lover will find some more Cories to love soon!

Yea, i know they are Brochis splendens..Their common name is green cory cats..They look like cory cats and they are very similiar, so what is your point?I should not have put this here? The green cory cat is this fish that I am talking about:

I wasn't trying to make apoint really, sorry if I offended you! I just wanted you to be aware of which fish you had since you spoke of getting more - I think it's interesting how they sell different fish under that name is all. My Petco gets both the Bronze cories and the Brochis spendens and sells them under that name - one month it's one type, the next month it's the other type. If you were getting more to finish out a school, I wanted to let you know this (in case you didn't know) so you got the right fish. ;)
