I am trying to find an external hard drive enclosure for an old hard drive I have laying around that I need some data off of. I really don't know where to start, any computer savvy ppl have a recommendation?
Thanks!

Just for getting data off, not permanently? I'd just see what you can get on craigslist or something. If you're talking more permanent, I'd say Maxtor.

if your just getting data off (as in not hooked up all the time), you can buy IDE/SATA to USB adapters and they work with 3.5 or 2.5" hdd's.
newegg.com is one place.

i dont think you need an enclosure.
turn off your computer, open your computer, hook it up, restart, copy data over??
if its not a sata drive and you dont have the spare cables temporarily unplug your CD/DVD drive and use that cable

is your current computer a laptop? if so disregard everything i just said

Nope, motherboard & power supply is fried hoping the HD is still salvagable. Was told to try an enclosure. I will try the suggestions, thanks!

Unless its a laptop the the pc probably has an open bay for a second H.D. just a thought
