Best filter for 100 Gal

A sump is not a filter. Its just a container that increases the water volume of your setup. Other filters just a wet/dry (trickle) filter are attached to a sump. Wet/dry filters are nice, and be easily made if you want to put out a bit of effort.

Best filter around IMO!
I have one on my 100 uk gallon. Decent flow and also loads of media space!
 
I use a Fluval 404 on my 50g lightly planted tank and haven't had any problems with it. That being said I would probably get the Filstar XP-3 for a 100g tank or an Eheim if you can afford the difference.
 
I had a Fluval 404 for awhile, and it stopped working. There was no way to get it going again.. I got another Filstar xP-3.
