Hi, I recently upgraded my 20 gallon tank to a 30 gallon with artificial plants (look at my tank setup for fishes) but I'm still using the same filter. It is an Aquaclear 50 (old 200) which filters 200 GPH. I was told that it shouldn't cause any problems but I can see my tank's water clouding a bit with few undissolved particles. Could this be the problem? How many GPH should be filtrated in 30 Gal?:help:Please!

How recently did you upgrade? Did you fill the new tank with 100% new water? When you put the old filter on the new tank did you use a new cartridge? What are you water parameters?
There are a lot of folks here that can answer better than me, but that filter should be fine. I think maybe your tank is still cycling, but lots of info is needed to diagnose the problem.

If the tank is already cycled and its actual particles flying from the filter then add this to your filter

But if its just clouding up and turning milky white then you are definitely going through a cycle

Okay, no nothing milky, just particles. So this floss where exactly do I place it? Because AC filters have a triple system that goes from bottom to top: Foam, Carbon and Biomax modules. Do I place it under the foam or between the foam and carbon or where?

I've replaced the carbon in my AC filters with floss. The water is always crystal clear, and the carbon isn't necessary anyway.

I would do [Floss][Sponge][Carbon] from the bottom to top.

floss should be on top since you want the water to come in contact with the floss last..

Basically its getting rid of large junk with the sponge and finer junk with the floss.. If its done floss then sponge then the floss gets clogged fast and doesnt really perform well, plus filter will start to lose some flow.
