hey guys just a couple of question on fish food.

1) do fish food expire
2) if so how long do you keep them
3) what are the best kinds to buy.

I use TetraMin i am look to change food. fish not eating and every time i do water change there always food in the water. i feed once a day

6 serpeas
6 glowlight

I like the omega, I use the flakes, cichlid pellets and sinking shrimp pellets.

I do not have either of those fish, but I have tried a few different foods and found that everyone seems to like Hikari Tropical Micro Pellets - I would stress the Micro Pellets part. my Betta wouldn't eat the Betta food made by Hikari, but will eat this. This is not the only food I feed them all though, and I read that your Serpaes require a variety of foods. Everyone in the tank goes nuts for frozen blood worms. If my big blue snail is at the top of the tank, I can hand feed him with a tweezer. It looks so funny, like he's slurping up spaghetti noodles, and my Betta will jump up out of the water for them.

thanks i see a lots of guy use omega to from what i have read

I use hikari gold micro pellets for my glowlights. It has good nutritional values and lots of essential vitamins.
To answer your 1 and 2 question fish food does loose nutritional value over time. Pellet or flake type foods need to be stored in a closed container. I usually throw any unused pellet of flake food out after 6mo.
