best fish for eating green algae...

Does anyone know where to get the inverts like the ammano shrimp in western NC The 5 shops I know of do not order fish :( nor do they carry anything like them only ghost shrimp and thats sketchy at best. Most act like I must be mistaking ammano for ghost shrimp even when I tell them I am not and that they are not salt water species either
grrrrr at the neophytes that work in some places.

55 tropical: 1 common pleco (about 10") and an unknown number of ghost shrimp. I have NO green algae, but I am getting some filimantous algae from when some fish food got trapped in my hornwort.

55 temprate: Common pleco and several goldfish... No algae. Period.

All of my other tanks grow algae at an alarming rate... Next time I go to a good fish store I'm getting a couple more plecos.

I would strongly advise against getting more common plecos for your tanks. Most of the larger species like the commons and gippiceps only eat algae when they are young and then need a carnivorous diet as they mature. Bristlenose plecos are probably your best bet if you want to go with a pleco species.
