What is the best kind of heater to get?

Stainless steal, Titanium, Glass?
My 2nd heater just went and tried to boil my aquarium....
Luckily I like to put my hands in it everyday and I notice it a little warm.. only got up to 85 and everything is ok. But need to get another heater and want the best heater as to not boil my aquarium...

That is what I thought but wanted to make sure before I bought one..
Thanks again

It's pricey, but you could also go with a temperature controller...

The thermostat in those is said to be far superior to the thermostats used in heaters (in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, and general overall quality). You plug your heater(s) into the controller, crank the heater(s) all the way up (which sounds scary if the controller were to fail for some reason), and let the temperature controller turn the heater(s) on and off.

I just use Visi-Therm heaters myself (no temperature controller... thought of getting one but just can't bring myself to spend the money on it).

visi-therms are plastic btw.

So plastic, glass, stainless steel, and titanium.

Have you bought your chiller yet? Because you can get combined chiller\heater units that are very good.

Heaters feedback

Avoid PRO HEAT titanium heaters because I belong to this discus forum where TONS of people have lost their fish because of these cheaply made (in China) heaters. This girl said all her 12 fish had actually jumped out of the water and she found them dead on the floor while the water was almost boiling!:mad2::mad2:
I have heard BAD things about VIA AQUA titanium heaters too. IMO, you are better off with the RENA CAL or Jager (made by Eheim) or an inline heater like Hydor. If you want a GOOD titanium, be prepared to pay A LOT for it and don't get anything made in China.... or get an external controller.
