Best Light Spectrum for Planted Aquarium

I have a 96w 50/50 on my 20 and about the only algae I get is diatoms.

Thanks for all the inputs everyone! I ordered a 50/50, a 6700K, a 12000K, and a blue actinic. I'll probably be doing some testing to see which one I like.

the k rating is not actually a spectrum rating..more a temperature rating.

spectrum is more about the color range the bulb yields.

I believe that they benefit more with light on the red end of the spectrum. but to be safe I usually recommend daylight(full spectrum) bulbs.

any bulb with full spectrum and ranges of 6k-10k seem to be where we find the proper bulbs.
the higher k rate seems to yield more of the light we see(visible).
the lower k rate will yield yellowish greenish tint.

;)

keep in mind the 50/50 bulbs can vary too(pink/blue, blue/10k etc.
if you are considering 50/50 for plant look to 6700/10,000 50/50 full color bulbs .

;)
